From the Depths of the Great TaoInspired by Lao Dzu and his "Tao Te Ching", and by the Wisdom of the Great Hermetic Principles Verse 1 To know Me, is to know yourself. To know yourself, is to know your brothers and sisters, and every living creature on Earth. To know your brothers and sisters, and every living creature on Earth, requires a magnitude of love and acceptance. Alas, one not yet known to the human race. Verse 2 True kings are not by title, but by virtue. True knights are not by armor, but by heart. True men and women are accomplished not by their achievements, but by living their true human nature. Verse 3 Knowing and knowledge are not the same. Knowing is eternal, albeit not external, its essence containing the seeds of the Maker, and as such it cannot be taken, nor can it be given or exchanged. Knowledge, on the other hand, is rigid and flawed, for it ceases the eternal existence of The All the moment something is defined as ‘known'. Verse 4 Because it lives in the Unseen, its bearer - the Unknown, the Knowing seems like it is hiding. The while, what you call ‘knowledge' parades on the surface, and runs far away from both the Unknown and the Knowing, making the latter an enemy of the state. Verse 5 That is why True Knowing is silent. Someone who truly knows, doesn’t talk. He listens and then he acts in accordance with the Laws. Verse 6 Judge a man’s worth not by his appearances, but by his virtues - by the unseen, not by what is easy for the eye to see and for the mind to grasp. Give and receive openly, let no stingy fear get in your way. Laugh and let be, for only the wind can truly run free and the high waters can reach deep. Verse 7 Don’t parrot the words of another. Choose your own words instead, and choose them wisely. For in words there is an ancient, hidden power. Power, more powerful than any humanly devised weapon on earth. Power, more creative than any storm or birth. For words create worlds, and worlds are a mere expression of words. Verse 8 Always know the difference between kindness and hate. Strive towards the former, and purify yourself from the latter by the power of will that has been instilled in you. Verse 9 Those who attempt order by enforcing power or by "fighting against", are none better than those who they enforce their power on. Nor is their cause more righteous than the one they fight against. Verse 10 True Order can come only from Great Surrender. For Order is the opposite of Chaos, and Chaos is as old as the beginnings of times - the Bearer of all true things. True cause is one that needs no supporters or idolaters, for it speaks for itself, albeit wordlessly. Verse 11 When you defy the Laws, even by attempting to define them yourself or to define yourself through them, you are doomed to suffer harsh consequences. For One is the Law that governs all laws, just like One is the Law that holds the All. It is called Oneness. Verse 12 Should you deviate from the One Law, you deviate from your True Nature, and the roads leading back to It are arduous, painful and dark. But when you follow the One Law, in turn the One Law follows you back and leads you to where you are meant to beget. Verse 13 Those who are entangled by the webs of their own righteousness, are far from distinguishing right from wrong. Then how can they tell 'what is' from 'what isn’t'? Verse 14 Blinded by rigor, they fall into the deep wells of grievances. Guided by hatred, they walk into the extinguishing fires of suffering and self-treachery. If blinded, one cannot see. But a martyr can see no less. Verse 15 Those who, blinded by hatred, seek justice through violence and redemption through vengeance, and in doing so they claim to be "working in God’s Will" - must know that they are as far away from Him, as close to their tainted heart is their twisted belief. Verse 16
For God’s Will is not expressed by violence, nor does He seek vengeance in His earthly deeds. Remember, only He who creates, is allowed to destroy what He has created. Only He who knows The All, knows how The All works and how to work with The All. Verse 17 Live simply and do not indulge in judging the villains, for they are promised the judgement of their own making. That which is born in the dawn, will pass in the twilight of day. That which was never born, will remain forever. Verse 18 Remember: The answer is (always) Love. The question is (always) Why? The promise is (always) Forever. The time of All Times is (always) Now.
